Cross Hire provides engineered solution heating a 70,000sq m warehouse

Here at Cross Hire, we have years of specialist experience in heating solutions responding to many types situations.  in this case study, we explained how cross hire assisted a large state-owned service provider who required an engineered solution capable of heating a 70,000sq m warehouse.

THE BACKGROUND

Our team carried out a detailed site survey – taking into consideration shift patterns, decibel level requirements and fume extraction, in addition to the client’s seasonal heating requirements.

THE SOLUTION

Two 600kW container boilers were connected to four 100kW air handling units. These air handling units were positioned internally and connected via flexible boiler hose with quick coupler connections, time-clock linked and thermostatically controlled.

The air handling units were placed on scaffold platforms and protected by traffic barriers, with each producing 200kW of heating. We created eight fume extraction systems too, along with ducting network, to remove vehicle fumes.

A regular schedule of planned preventative maintenance was planned and implemented. Meanwhile, a fuel management system was put in place to deliver regular fuel supplies and ensure the client suffered no loss of heating.
