CrossHire have recently installed Portable Oil Fired Boilers to assist in the drying of newly laid concrete flooring at a new build industrial park in Cheshire. The 100kW Portable Oil Fired Boiler is connected to the Heating Mat Installed for eventual connection to the main static Boiler Plant.

CrossHire can provide Portable Boilers from 100kW to 550kW; the Boilers are available in mobile, easy to tow format or Containerised. Fuel types are also variable with Oil and Natural Gas Burners. Smaller three phase electrical units are also available.

Boiler Hire Company CrossHire, were recently asked to design, build and install a containerised boiler room for a large leisure centre. The specification was for two independent natural gas boilers with a combined duty of 1000kW contained in single, permanent steel boiler housing. Commercial Director Andy Hamilton said “we were delighted to win this project, CrossHire supplied the Boiler Room using only the best products, the two independent boiler units were manufactured by Viesmann, the gas burners used are Weishaupt; all other components used were sourced from top HVAC manufacturers. The requirement for external Boiler Plant Rooms is growing and CrossHire are pleased to be winning this type of business”

CrossHire Re Heat University!
When one of the UK’s largest building companies needed specialist heating equipment at a North London University, they called on CrossHire to provide the perfect solution.
During a major expansion program, the Universities existing boiler house was due to be demolished, the plan was to replace it with a new energy efficient boiler plant which will be built into the newly extended building. This meant that over a 26 week period, unless a solution could be found, the universities main campus would be without a hot water supply.
CrossHire carried out a detailed site survey, and then proposed the supply of a 115kW portable packaged hot water plant room. Due to the length of the hire the University requested a natural gas fired heating system. CrossHire were more than happy to provide a gas fired unit, something which is available as standard from CrossHire.
CrossHire advised the client where to connect into the existing water pipe work; the experienced installation team provided and fitted the required flanges and fittings. The Portable Boiler arrived on site complete with all required flexible hoses and pumps.
Installation was simple and carried out with the minimum of fuss ensuring that the university kept its hot water supply on tap with the minimum of disruption. CrossHire has a modern fleet of hire equipment including Portable Air Conditioning, Mobile Chillers, Portable Heaters and Mobile Boilersranging from 30kW to 550kW. They are capable of delivering large cooling and heating projects across a wide range of business sectors and specialist applications.

When workmen in Cork accidentally fractured a gas main, a nearby residential care home was left with no heating or hot water, and no indication when the problem would be resolved.
The duty engineer made a call to CrossHire who immediately despatched an Oil Fired 250kwPortable Boiler, together with flexible hoses, pipe connections and electrical cables.
Commercial Director Andrew Hamilton explained: “There was no time to carry out a site survey so we loaded the delivery vehicle with enough flexible hose to cover any eventuality. We also sent a separate vehicle loaded with portable oil filled radiators to provide immediate heat whilst the Mobile Boiler was installed.”
The initial call to CrossHire was placed at 2-30pm, by 5-30pm the same day CrossHire were on site and the installation was underway.
“Some of the residents were quite frail, and the overnight weather forecast had predicted a heavy frost”
The CrossHire installation team quickly installed oil filled radiators into each of the resident bed rooms ensuring that they had some heating whilst the temporary boiler was installed.
CrossHire engineers then worked through the night installing the Temporary Boiler, finally commissioning the unit in the early hours of the morning. “The boiler was on line before the residents woke up, this meant that the kitchen was functioning normally, showers and basins were working and the heating system was fully operational with the minimum disruption to the residents”
